The Winter Sun: Uptown, Midtown, Uptown

7:16 a.m. Early morning, at the end of Cooper Street in Inwood, a view of The Cloisters on the top of Fort Tryon.
A trying time for those getting out of bed and going to work in the cold winter morning.

Afternoon. 3:56 p.m. 19 F, according to the CNN clock at Columbus Circle.
This may be accurate.

Late afternoon. 4:41 p.m. The fiery sunset on Broadway, looking back downtown and westerly toward Fort Tryon Park and The Cloisters.
Directions are often confusing in Inwood as Broadway takes a sold northeast turn up here.
Manhattan is not perfectly aligned along a perfect north-south axis like on the subway map.
The island skews southwest (from the Battery) to northeast (Inwood), like it toppled over to the right.
