A Saturday Winter Walk in the Park with Dark Squirrels and a Regular Assortment of Birds

A Saturday walk in Inwood Hill Park began with a dark squirrel.

The shorebirds flitted from one icy spot to another.

Walking conditions were not ideal.
At the new Muscota Marsh, nor was sitting.

The downy woodpeckers were out and about.
Well, at least one.

Inwood should have hosted the Winter Olympics.

The park would have made a nice venue for several sports.

On the top of a tree, flashes of yellow darted about - American Goldfinches.

Below, a House Sparrow observed whatever House Sparrows observe.
