On Sunday, Two Creatures Defied Easter Traditions by Wearing Black

On Easter Sunday in Inwood Hill Park, the flora showed off its cherry blossom pinks, but the fauna went for classic New York black.
In Muscota Marsh, a Double-crested Cormorant took a break from a swim in the Harlem River to dry off at the end of the dock.

Nearby, one of the park's many black squirrels paused for a nutty snack.
Note: More conventional Easter pastels may be viewed at a concurrent post on my ancient blog.
